The Ultimate Guide to Taking Notes on PowerPoint
The Ultimate Guide to Taking Notes on PowerPoint pixabay.com The prep work Before your lecture, you should extract your professorâs PowerPoint document and download it onto your computer. You should familiarize yourself with the contents of these slides so that you are prepared for the next class. Beyond reviewing these PowerPoint slides, you should add questions in these slides. These queries can range from issues understanding a concept or about a relevant problem in the textbook. To add a question, I would suggest that you add a comment so that you can resolve these comments with answers during your next lectures. In order to add a comment, simply click Insert in your PowerPoint document and then click comment. The Comments section will appear to the right side of the document, where you can type a question or concern in individual comment bubbles. These blurbs will serve as helpful reminders during class. Otherwise, you can add questions and additional text in the form of notes in your PowerPoint. Adding notes In order to add notes to an appropriate slide, select the slide and at the bottom of the PowerPoint document click the Notes or Add Notes space. If you would like to change the hierarchy of your notes per each slide, you may select the Home tab and use the Font and Paragraph tools to reorganize how these notes will be printed out. These adjustments will not appear as you view the PowerPoint document. Instead, you will only see these amendments in the Presenter View or Preview Mode or once the document is printed. Drawing a diagram or figure In order to create a comprehensive figure in a PowerPoint document, all you need to do is select the Insert tab, then click either the SmartArt or Chart tab (dependent on the purpose of your visual). Both the SmartArt and Chart options open up an additional dialog box so you can choose the perfect shape(s) or chart(s) for your needs. Once the appropriate dialog box pops open, you can change the diagramâs shape, size, and spacing to make your professorâs hand-drawn illustrations. You can add an uncomplicated diagram or chart by creating a diagram in OneNote, separate from your PowerPoint document entirely. The benefit to creating a diagram separately in OneNote is that it will give you more space in your PowerPointâs notes section to actually type notes. Simply click the Draw tab and then select various objects in the Shapes gallery to form your desired diagram. If your diagram requires you to use multiple different shapes, such as for a simplified illustration of a molecule, you can select Lock Drawing Mode once the toggle menu from the Shapes gallery appears. Microsoft Office support also has additional videos to show you how to choose the diagram or chart for your PowerPoint slide. However, you can also hand draw your own custom shapes and figures, which can help you create more detailed figures for anatomy classes, engineering classes, or otherwise. In order to design your own custom visuals for your PowerPoint document, you should start by clicking the Review tab. This tab may also be labeled as Draw for any Microsoft Office 365 users. Afterward, select the option that says Start Inking on the far right-hand side. After you select Start Inking, a plethora of drawing options will appear. You may use a pen to freehand an educational illustration, the highlighter option to highlight portions of your notes, or even clip and select sections entirely. When selecting the pen tool, you make alter the color selection and even the line thickness of your PowerPoint drawing utensil. The Start Inking feature is particularly useful if you are skilled at creating simple drawings using your mouse or if your laptop has a touchscreen. If you are a design student or would like to create more detailed visuals for your PowerPoint, you can simply purchase an inexpensive and portable drawing tablet to connect to your laptop. A drawing tablet, such as a HUION H420 Graphics Drawing Tablet Board, acts as a sketchbook so you can actively draw images on your laptopâs screen. While you wonât be able to see the image youâre drawing on the tabletâs surface, you can easily train your hand-eye coordination to cultivate functional figures for your PowerPoint document. Itâs essential to note that you can only add these drawn diagrams and figures to your slides. You cannot add them to your notes; however, you may add additional slides to your PowerPoint presentation to make room for these supporting visuals. You can also add photographs of your professorâs notes to your PowerPointâs notes, as this will also save time so you can focus on the lecture. If your professor gives you verbal and/or written permission, you can also record his/her audio during class and include it into your PowerPoint document. To add audio, click Insert, Media, and then Audio. However, itâs critical that you ask for your professorâs consent before each lecture, as otherwise, you can face a prodigious lawsuit. While itâs important to annotate your PowerPoint slides appropriately during class, itâs vital that you understand the difference between necessary, or noteworthy, information and filler knowledge. You shouldnât waste the entirety of the course writing vigorously typing notes in your PowerPoint slides. Instead, spend your time listening to your professor and dissect and type in any information that isnât self-explanatory in the slides or the textbook(s) themselves.
Phone Interviews Vs. In-Person Interviews
Phone Interviews Vs. In-Person Interviews via Pexels Phone Interviews Phone interviews are becoming more common, seeing as they are much more convenient to hold than in-person interviews. For one thing, they can follow a fairly flexible schedule; you could do a phone interview from the comfort of your own home in your pajamas if you wanted to! You also donât have to waste precious time traveling back and forth to an interview destination; instead, you can spend that time preparing for the actual interview. Pros 1. Eliminates geographical barriers A convenient aspect of phone interviews is that, if youâre applying for a job that is geographically far away, you donât have to travel far or at all to make the interview. As previously mentioned, you wonât have to spend time traveling to and from your destination. Instead, you will have the opportunity to speak to the interviewer from wherever you feel comfortable, without having to make the extra effort of traveling a far distance. 2. Eases anxiety and stress If you find in-person interviews particularly nerve-wracking, you probably wonât have to worry about all the same things with a phone interview. For instance, you donât need to stress yourself out over your body language, if youâre making eye contact, how youâre sitting in your seat, etc. after all, on the phone, your interviewer canât see you. As a result, talking on the phone frees you from worrying about extraneous things so that you can instead focus on the crux of your interviewing skills: how you answer questions and what you say to the interviewer. 3. Allows you to use your notes As already mentioned, the interviewer canât see you while youâre on the phone which gives you an advantage in being able to use your notes during the interview. Whether you write your notes by hand, type them out on your laptop, or use any other note-taking method, you will have the chance to consult your notes while you talk to the interviewer. This can be a big help, especially if youâre concerned about forgetting what you say or stumbling over your words. Having something written out in front of you can help you stay on track with your thoughts and ease your nerves a bit. Cons 1. Less time to sell yourself As phone interviews are usually a bit shorter than in-person ones, youâll have limited time to sell yourself. This just means youâll have to devise a strategy for how you pitch yourself which should help you in the long run as you continue to practice and gain more interview experience. In-Person Interviews Pros 1. Meet the interviewer in person If youâre the kind of person who enjoys meeting people in person and thrives in situations where you get to showcase your interpersonal skills, then in-person interviews are a great fit for you. Not only will you have the opportunity to practice your body language, but youâll also get the chance to actually put a face to the name of your interviewer and learn more about him or her in person. 2. Make a good impression. The way you present yourself is clearly a significant part of doing well in an interview. As a result, showing who you are in person is important for leaving a good impression on your interviewer. That may include cultivating your physical presence, such as dressing professionally and demonstrating confidence through your words and behavior. Cons 1. Scheduling The biggest difficulty of attending an in-person interview is the scheduling of it. Getting to the interview destination and back can definitely take up a lot of time and become a hassle, which is why youâll likely need to clear out a large chunk of your schedule to make time for the interview. 2. Inability to use notes When youâre with the interviewer face to face, you wonât be able to consult any notes. That means if youâre asked some âhardâ or âstrangeâ questions, you need to be extra prepared to tackle those on the spot. Devote some time before your interview to researching and thinking about potential answers to any questions that you think you might be asked. In-person and phone interviews each have their pros and cons. No matter what mode of interview you get, itâs important that you spend the necessary time and effort preparing so that youâll have the chance to ace your interview when the time comes.

Zimbabwes Solution Sell the Animals
Zimbabwe's Solution Sell the Animals Photo Via: http://www.newsx.com Nowadays, it seems like there are endless organizations meant to help others, whether theyâre geared towards the homeless, the malnourished, the sick, the disabled or even those that donât have a voice for themselves. So isnât it about time that good deeds were done without calling for the help of an organization? Zimbabwe, who is recently suffering from a devastating drought, decided to take action on its own, albeit in a controversial way. Zimbabwe has reached out to local farmers as well as private game rangers and asked them to buy wild animals to take out of the country and save them, as well as the landâs plants, from starvation. This âdestockingâ of the national game reserves is a way for the country to raise some money while simultaneously saving what little life is left in the land. According to Caroline Washaya, a park and wildlife authority spokeswoman, âin the light of the droughtâ these individuals have been reached out to and implored to purchase these wild animals. This is at the very least a promising start for Zimbabwe as it attempts to overcome such a terrible drought. However, itâs unclear how big of a task this animal selling will be, as there are, as of yet, no details of species or the number of species/animals that are being put up for sale. And not only this, but the idea of selling animals off their land is certainly one thatâs going to spark controversy, especially since animals are unable to speak for themselves and this idea brings to question some matters of morality to make animal rights activists. If they arenât already, itâs only a matter of time before animal rights organizations begin stepping in though whether it will be for better or for worse is still up to interpretation. But if you look at Zimbabweâs past, the country has undergone a continuous battle with reducing the number of animals on its land, specifically the number of elephants. Not only that, but the country is running extremely low on funds as well. So really, this appears to be a solution that solves both of their problems. Elephants in the country have populations that double the carrying capacity of the countryâs parks, which in turn becomes a survival hazard for the animals as well. pexels.com The country is so desperate that itâs even put an ad in state newspapers asking âmembers of the public with the capacity to acquire and manage wildlifeâ to reach out and offer to buy some of these animals. And this isnât the first time this has been done either. In the past few years, Zimbabwe has actually exported their elephants out to other countries, namely China, in return for funds and the decrease in the ever-growing elephant population. And as for the human population, things donât fare any better. Most rural areas of the country are now in a state of disaster, as declared by President Robert Mugabe in February of this year, and about one-fourth of the population is in desperate need of food. And to top it all off, this drought has made the already strained national parks even more stressed, as they must deal with a population excess in addition to the food and water crisis. At this point, in addition to the selling of more wild animals such as elephants, the country is completely relying on donations, especially the parks authorities. They ask any humanitarians or simply those with a little extra cash or time to spare any water they can to help out the wildlife, in addition to fighting off the growing problem parks face with poachers by setting up patrols of volunteers. So while the past animal exportation to China snagged the attention of international animal rights activists, and the current plans will probably do the same, the countryâs ideas are completely warranted, and theyâre desperate for a plan of action. The bottom line: they donât have time to wait around and see what happens. And local conservationists within the country and around the world are backing the Zimbabwe government plans to sell these animals, as it appears to be the best plan (and probably only plan) at the moment. According to Jerry Gotora, a conservationist and the past chairman of the parks department, âZimbabwe is facing one of its worst droughts ever, even worse than 1992 when thousands of wildlife were decimated ⦠All our national parks are in the driest regions and the biggest question as we experience this drought is âwho is going to feed the wildlife and who is going to give them water?ââ These are serious problems being faced across the world and the moral ambiguity of their solution is going to be a cause for conversation in parts of the world that arenât experiencing this devastating event first-hand. iran-daily.com So what it really comes down to is what it takes for Zimbabwe to survive this drought, and if the answer is to sell their animals to the highest bidder, we may not have much of a choice in the matter.

What is calculus used for
What is calculus used for Calculus is the section in mathematics which is used in various fields and this branch of mathematics helps us analyze the behaviors of different functions. Calculus is a vast section and it includes various applications such as finding the area between the curves, maximum and minimum values possible for a function, structure of the graph and its continuity etc. These applications of calculus are used in different fields such as engineering and technology, business etc. and these concepts also help us find solutions to complex problems. Example 1: Find the slope of the given straight line, f(x) = 2x + 11 using the derivative method. In order to find the derivative, we can use the Power rule of the Derivatives: d(xn)/dx = n * xn-1 We can distribute the derivative to both the terms: d(2x + 11)/dx [ d(2x)/ dx ] + [ d(11)/ dx ] Using the above formula, we get 2(x1-1) + 0 = 2 Hence the slope or the derivative of the given straight line is 2. Example 2: Find the slope of the tangent drawn to the given function, f(x) = x2 + 3x at x = 1. Using the Power rule of the Derivatives: d(xn)/dx = n * xn-1 d(x2 + 3x)/dx [ d(x2)/ dx ] + [ d(3x)/ dx ] Using the above formula, we get 2(x2-1) + 3(x1-1) = 2x + 3 Hence the slope is = 2x + 3. When x = 1, the slope = 2(1) + 3 = 2+ 3 = 5 Hence the slope of the tangent to the curve at x = 1 is 5.
Vertical Angle Definition Tutors
Vertical Angle Definition Tutors When two straight lines intersect each other, then the angles formed which are opposite to each other are known as vertical angles, and such vertical angles are equal in measure. So this implies that the vertical angles, which are the opposite angles formed when two lines intersect each other are congruent angles and this definition helps us calculate various other angles very easily. Vertical angles play a very important role while measuring angles in different cases of geometry. Example 1: Given below is the diagram of the intersection of two straight lines. If the value of a = 70, then find the value of x from the diagram shown below. Given, a = 70 From the diagram we can observe that, a and x are opposite to each other and hence they are vertical angles! Hence their value should be equal to each other. This gives, value of x = value of a = 70. Example 2: Given below is the diagram of the intersection of two straight lines. If the value of x = 85, then find the value of y from the diagram shown below. Given, x = 85 From the diagram we can observe that, x and y are opposite to each other and hence they are vertical angles! Hence their value should be equal to each other. This gives, value of y = value of x = 85.
